Porch blessings

Hello friends,
It's hard to believe that I had my first surgery over 3 weeks ago and my 2nd surgery, just 1 week ago.  I have been trying to focus on the growth and healing each day brings...but there are moments in each day that I HOPE that I will be totally healthy again sometime soon.  The second surgery has been much harder emotionally than physically...as it is hard to "move backwards" in healing in order to move forward.

That being said...I am in total awe of the endless ways friends and family continue to bless me and our family.  Yesterday these blessings literally ended up on my porch throughout the day...here is a rundown of the "porch miracles" in the last 24 hours.

1) A wonderful family friend, Suzie, showed up on our porch on Thursday evening with the most delicious cookies for the boys lunches and homemade bread and stew.(you know you don't cook much when your boys ask, "What is stew?") It was delicious.
2) My feet walking down the porch yesterday morning to meet a dear friend for a walk in the woods after a rough emotional morning.  Thanks Andrea...you are a blessing to me!
3) Two Maids and a Mop cleaning company came to my porch to clean my house.  They generously  donate house cleanings to women recovering from cancer treatments/surgery.  A clean and sparkly house is so AMAZING!
4) An Amazon package on my porch with cozy treats from a wonderful friend in Michigan who was our neighbor in graduate school.  Thanks Amy
5) My wonderful neighbor, Gretchen, bringing 2 baskets of clean laundry and 2 loaves of homemade bread to my porch after an SOS call yesterday morning before the cleaning people came.
6) Another wonderful neighbor and teaching partner bringing an unexpected meal from a coworker to my porch.(plus time to chat) . Thanks Wende
7) Dody arrived on my porch with a Cricut to borrow for the next week, as I am hoping to get some creative juices flowing.(a good sign that I am feeling better) Thanks Dode
8) Talking with my Mom and sister on the phone, while sitting on the porch
9) An unexpected Pizza Pipeline delivery driver came to my porch with 3 pizzas. We were SURPRISED with a yummy dinner from a dear teaching friend in Grand Coulee.  We really thought he had the wrong porch.  The boys decided that all they want for their birthday is Trixy Stix from Pizza Pipeline.  Thank you Kim...you touched our hearts and our tummies!
10) And in the evening a longtime college friend, Stephanie, and her sweet girls came to our porch with Sweet Frostings cupcakes and then we went to cheer on the PLU volleyball team at Whitworth.

Sometimes I think I look for really big miracles and miss the wonderful miracles that happen all around me or on my PORCH!

Prayers:
*Continued healing on my right side...it seems that the drain hole is healing well and the chest cavity is not accumulating fluid.(Praise god)
*Physical Therapy starting next Wednesday

Praise:
*Porch blessings
*Time to rest and heal

I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend...look for those little miracles around you...they might even show up on your PORCH!
