Detour

Hello everyone,
I just met with Dr. Guthrie again and the swelling on the right side is just not healing on its own..despite the torture ace bandage treatment.  So, we take a detour....

I will have surgery tomorrow afternoon, likely at 3 or 4, to clean out that chest cavity and have another drain put in.  This will allow the right side to heal...the pocket of fluid is making it impossible for that side to heal. 

The news has been hard to take, mostly just feeling discouraged.  Dr. Guthrie reassured me that I didn't cause this and that it is a relatively easy fix.  I am so thankful for her and her compassionate spirit.

Please be praying that all goes well tomorrow...by God's grace, my roommate Anna is coming to visit and help for the weekend.  I thought I wouldn't need the help, but God knew better when we planned this last week.

Prayers:
*Successful surgery to drain the right side and that the fluid would not come back.
*Peaceful waiting during the day without food or water.
*Patience in healing..it will come

*My mom coming to tidy up our house

I truly have been blessed way beyond anything I could ever hope for.  Hopefully this a short detour and I will be back on the road to healing soon.
